What You Need

  • 1 pkg
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or crushed
  • 1 pkg (500 g) frozen French cut green beans
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 1/4 cup cream of mushroom soup (optional reduced salt product if preferred)
  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 1 cup choice of monterey or swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup French's Crunchy Toppers - Onions (or preferred fried onion product/recipe)

  1. Preheat oven to 375F and grease a 9x13 casserole dish (or skillet of similar size).

  2. Grease/spray another skillet or pan with cooking spray and warm on medium high heat. Saute the onion and garlic with the sausage until meat is cooked through and onions are translucent. Add the green beans and cook until heated through.

  3. Mix in sour cream, cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup and rice. Remove mixture from heat and pour into casserole dish. Cook while covered for approximately 30 minutes.

  4. Cook fried onions according to package instructions (if using different fried onions recipe preference).

  5. Remove dish from oven and uncover. Sprinkle cheese and crispy fried onions over top. Bake unconvered for another 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and onions brown.
